Flute Magic! Flute Camp

Flute Magic! Flute Camp 2012 will be held July 9 – 13, 2012! Flutists, aged 8 – 18, are welcome to share a week of flute fun and challenge in Southern Maryland. Classes will include group & private flute lessons, master classes, ensemble classes, optional class piano, and arts and crafts. Instructors will present recitals at 3:00 every day, and the students will present the Grand Finale Concert on Friday, July 13 at 3:00.

Flute Magic! 2011 was full and a great success—20 flutists & 6 instructors had a wonderful week.

• Small Class Size ( Camp is limited to 20 participants, five students to one teacher)

Classes:

Beginning Flute: For the student with little or no prior experience – introduction to the flute and music reading. (special “Pneumo-Pro” teaching aid required—$30.00 extra)

Intermediate Flute: For the student with prior experience on the flute— focus on technique, tone, solos, small and ensemble playing, and piccolo.

Advanced Flute: For the advanced players seeking more challenging repertoire and audition preparation.

Daily Schedule (Monday-Friday)

9:00-9:30 Warm-up & Orientation

9:40-10:30 Class I

10:40-11:20 Class II

11:30-12:00 Lunch

12:00-1:30 Lunch, Crafts, Flex time

1:30-2:50 Flute Choir or Class

3:00-3:50 Recitals, Concerts

Total cost $260. Non-refundable deposit of $75 must accompany application. Deadline for registration/$185 balance is due by June 30.
